I honestly don't see how CMS can be opened tomorrow either (1/12). I just went to Harris Teeter at Rea and Colony. My neighborhood is awful. It was scary too because it's kind of hilly. When I got out on Rea it was okay. Not fine, but okay. On the way back I could not get up my driveway. It's cloudy and cold and there's not much melting/draining going on. I live pretty close in on roads that are heavily travelled. Can't even imagine how it is further out.
Dont know how buses would safely run either. I would think that just the risk of a bus sliding off the road would be enough to close them again...
There is NO WAY schools will be open tomorrow. Last year they closed schools for 3 days and there was only a little black ice..forget it.
This time its warranted though..these side roads are a MESS. With temps going into the teens tonight..mid 30's tomorrow and teens tomorrow night..I doubt Thursday either.
My 3 year old is home because daycare follows school rules. Try working with a 3 year old making noise all day ...sigh. But at least he is safe
FYI-Cabarrus County Schools are closed for Wednesday.
