Hi everyone,

New here, but I'm moving to Charlotte in June. I'm graduating from college and was offered a position with a company in the middle of uptown. I'm looking to rent a condo somewhere uptown that can be within walking distance mainly. I've talked with some other people who work there and they've said to look into The Catalyst or Post uptown/gateway.

The Catalyst looks really nice, but prices look like they are 1.2k+

Post properties are around 800, but I saw that I need to pay around 400 in fees before renting and even have monthly fees for having my meter read and pay for water. I've visited the gateway building and was not a fan at all of their apartments.

So I come here for help. Do you guys know any places within uptown that I can get for under 1k? I'm looking to pay around 900 for a 1 bed 1 bath.

I'm thinking that finding a person who owns a condo and rents it out would be a better choice than a building that rents all their apartments, or maybe the other way. Not sure.

Thanks for any help!

Going to be tough to get into uptown for under 1K. There are some newer 1 Bed condos in Dilworth and SouthEnd under $1K. You could easily take the light rail to work. DM me if you need more specific info.

I have a condo that I rent out in uptown (currently rented)... there are some 1B/1Ba in 4th Ward that may come in under 1K, but if you didn't like Gateway, you probably wouldn't like these places either.. they would be under 1000 sqft, few amenities etc. Try craigslist, that is where I advertise my place when it is available.

Thanks for the help guys. I've been noticing that most uptown properties are over 1k. Post properties are starting to look more and more appealing every day. I'm gonna look into the 4th Ward, and I also sent you a DM Palmetto for some properties outside of Uptown.

Thanks again

I live in Post Uptown. I like it. Lot's of nice amenities, plus CVS next door and The Corner Pub inside the building. No complaints.

Their traditional floorplan 1/1 isn't too bad.

Does anyone know about rental insurance? How much is that?

I live in 4th Ward at 715 N Church. Easy walking distance to uptown employment/bars/restaurants (just a few blocks really), plus the Gold Rush Trolley is right out front by the performing arts center/art school.

Its a condo building and there are almost always condos for rent here. Personally, I pay $900, but the range I have seen is anywhere from $725 to $1200.. depending on bedrooms, sq footage and view I assume. Have a pool, secure parking garage and rooftop deck- just search craigslist for 715 N Church.
