Depends on what you want to do. Myrtle Beach is a lot busier and has more nightlife, golf, etc. Wilmington is a very nice and charming city with a nice beach, a great downtown with lots of interesting old homes and good restaurants.

Personally I'd go to Wilmington over Myrtle Beach any day, but that's me.

I wouldn't go to MB if you paid me. Wilmington is fantastic!

Myrtle Beach is a touristy kid oriented pace. Wilmington is perfect to relax and is so beautiful and nice.

And besides, Wilmington is a MUCH easier drive!

a Straight shot from Charlotte on 74. No turns no nothing, just a straight shot.

I would go to Wilmington, too. There are lots of nice shops and restaurants in town and it is not quite as commercialized. It would make for a lovely getaway for you!!
