Not sure how it works. Maybe they want to try him for a certain degree of murder and his lawyer wants a lesser degree or a different charge?

Lawyers gotten earn their fees : )

Indeed. It's an excellent point and I'm sure one the pandering local media won't address.

It's common knowledge that black people get the book thrown at them and most murders are committed by people who know them. That is, white people are more likely to get killed by another white person (angry spouse, suicide-murder, serial killer, etc.); and black people get killed by black people (usually over drugs, gang, etc).

So, buy all the guns you want, probably the only person that's gonna shoot you is a mad a$$ spouse, deranged spouse (insurance money) or relative; probably using your gun.

Except, in this case, we have a White man shot by a Black man. The White man was walking on the street, in his own neighborhood in one of the most prestigious areas of CLT and was shot down in cold blood. Neither party knew each other.

Maybe if the man had holstered a gun the killer might have had 2nd thoughts on it.

Do you have a link from DoJ or FBI on that? Cause that is not what I had read in years past (from DoJ). What you said about whites and domestic violence (poisoning being high in that group - weird, huh?) . . . that was in the last report I saw. But if you break out all gang related crime across the board (white, black, hispanic) . . . your conclusions don't jive with what I read. However, that was several years ago so that is why I wondered what source you had for your info.

In regard to this "kid" . .. he murdered in cold blood. He set out that day to find a victim - to create a crime of oportunity. I think the reason the Powers that Be have decided to go "lenient" is b/c his family came forward - and so often - folks will close ranks and not assist the police when they know full well who the shooter was. So I think this was to send a message - that if you cooperate - it could spare someone's life. However, that makes me very angry that someone gets a "break" b/c their family DID THE RIGHT THING rather than harboring a murderer. That just hits me wrong.
