My husband and I are thinking about dropping Time Warner and picking up DirectTV. However, we can't find affordable internet service that covers this area. Any suggestions?? Thanks!

I pay $40 for whatever was their original service, before they added several levels.

Dial up is probably pretty cheap.

When you consider the cost of a dial up line however, with the huge amount of taxes on it, it's not a deal at all.

We live in that zipcode and have to have TW for the speed. A few months ago I looked into alternatives to get the price down. Windstream offers spotty service here and was the same price. Our cell phone service has a package that was a good price, but it allowed too few devices to be online at a time and was too slow.

When we were calling around trying to get a better rate, TW came down on their price to keep us as customers. If you are already cancelling their cable, they might do the same for you to not loose all your business.

Thanks for the feedback!! Sounds like I'll probably just end up staying with TW. I'm not unhappy with their internet service, just trying to cut down on bills

AT&T DSL $19.95.....

There are no taxes or fees on stand alone DSL. Works great for us.
