Hi there I am trying to decide between Charlotte and Greenville to move my family of 6. We are looking for information on the rental market in these 2 areas as well as information on the homeschool climate. We will be trying homeschool with our 4 young children for the first time this upcoming year and are looking for a great network and lots of resources. Also, we are looking for a congested FREE suburb, older neighborhood, great for kids and within a short drive of all the necessary amenities ie. farmer market, YMCA, parks et. I like Matthews, but wish it weren't so populated. Any suggestions or input on citites outside Charlotte specifically Fort Hill, Rock City, Belmont, would be appreciated!

Thanks!
Traffic is less congested coming from west of Charlotte. Where your job is would have a bearing on where you live, unless you work from home.
I'm assuming that you are asking about Rock Hill. If that is the case. you should also look at Clover & Kings Mountain.
There are so many homeschool groups in Charlotte, I'm overwhelmed. The best place to look is Yahoo Groups. A lot of them maintain their members through there. There are co-ops like Grace Academy, Full Circle, Enrich. The Homeschool Room in Matthews is a great resource.
We live in an older neighborhood near SouthPark Mall, the Harris Y, lightrail and 77. The Regional Farmer's Market is not too far away. I like living near the light rail so we can go into downtown and not pay for parking. At the last stop is ImaginOn, the children's library, and a new farmer's market, 7th Street Public Market.
GL!
