I'm hoping you can lend some good advice. My husband and I will be in Charlotte for one night with our two sons (10 and 17). We have tickets for both the Bobcats and Daughtry concert on the same night. We have decided to split up and have two of us go to the concert and two to the game (obviously one adult and one kid per event). Which venue do you think would be safer for me to leave after the event with my son? Can you recommend a good hotel to stay that would be centrally located to both venues? If I go to the game and my husband goes to the concert with the rental car, would I find transportation safe/easily back to our hotel and vice versa if I go to the concert? Just trying to figure out a safe game plan. Thanks in advance.

There's not really any hotel centrally located to both venues. My idea would be to stay at the Holiday Inn near the arena. It is one of their high end properties and is very nice. It is only a couple blocks away from the arena and you should be fine as far as safety.

Ovens is not very far away from TWC arena, less than 4 miles.

I agree. Stay at a hotel near TWC in uptown and you can easily/safely walk to the arena from there and the husband can take the easy drive over to Ovens. I'm not concerned when I leave either venue after an event as there are thousands doing the same thing at the same time.

Thank you! So, if I pick a hotel uptown near TWC I can walk safely back with my son? Are there taxi's readily available after the game as well? I appreciate all the feedback.

I agree with the other posts. There aren't any hotels between the two places. Walk to the holiday Inn, You should be fine.

There's no need for a taxi. The Holiday Inn is a block from the TWC arena, attached to the "Wake Forest University Charlotte Campus" building (probably shown on maps as International Trade Center).

Neither place will be unsafe, whether it is walking to your car in the Ovens parking lot or walking to the hotel after basketball game.
