We are going thru on the way to Virginia and thought we would stay overnight in Charlotte and hit Barnyard Flea Market or another. We look for collectibles, antiques, etc.

What area is best for to look for a hotel to stay overnight? Arrowwood? Airport? North side? No kids just 2 adults and a little dog.

Thanks! Happy 4th to everyone.

I've never stayed in a hotel around here but if you like flea markets, try the one off 85. If you are coming down 95 to 85 you will pass it and it is right off the exit.

The Barnyard Flea Market is in Fort Mill, SC, but right on the edge of Pineville, NC.

I would suggest staying a few miles away near Carolina Place Mall in Pineville at either the Comfort Suites or Holiday Inn Express. These are right off of I485 for easy access to continuing your journey to VA on I77 North.

Holiday Inn Express is much newer and a bit nicer than Comfort Suites. There's also a Hilton Garden Inn over there.

Funny how the three areas that you mention (Airport, Arrowwood, North Charlotte) are the places to stay away from I guess they show up first in the searches.
