WSOC is reporting that two bodies have been found in a car near a bridge off of I-20 in Kershaw County. Saying prayers for the families as they wait to hear...
I saw this a few minutes ago. This sickens me. I am really feeling sad. I was hoping they would be found alive. I can't imagine what their parents must be feeling.
Sorry for family, Im trying to figure more on this on what could have happen. Did they wreck near Catawba-Waterlee River or go in it?
They was about a hour from Columbia in middle of night they could hit a deer or tired eyes and went of bridge.
Nothing but farm land and woods so if they left around 2 am that would probably put them around 4 to 5 am..
I feel for family but at least they will have closure.
If it happened off I-20 then it would be the Wateree River, not Lake Wateree. However I don't see how a car there could leave the highway and get into the river without crashing through the rails. There is a long bridge that goes well past the shore of the river for 100s of feet. Maybe this happened at the Hwy 34 crossing.
Edit, sounds as if the car was under the I-20 bridge so I stand corrected.

Yes, the TV news reports that the car must have narrowly missed the end of the guardrail system and then traveled down the embankment to the water.
Sorry to hear this is the way it ended for the victims and their loved ones.
It traveled between the bridges and landed. The same thing happened last year on 521 in Indian Land. There were 2 or 3 people dead in a car over Christmas. Same kind of scenario going between the guardrails. I traveled to Columbia over the wekend and saw several K9 search tems up and down 77. It was hard to drive and not constantantly look at the side of the road. Sorry for the family's involved but glad they have been found.
I'm seeing different reports - some sources say there will be an investigation because it looks like a collision occurred, some say a one-car accident. The bumper with the tag was found in the median, apparently.
Prayers for the family and friends of these two teens. I am heartsick about it. I felt the car had to be off the road and obscured. I am so glad these folks continued a diligent search so the family knows what happened to their sons.
What a sad ending.
