Buses are allowed on interstates, Actually there is a bunch in CMS area that uses the interstates. Buses have there flashers on letting you know that they are traveling beneath posted speed. As the buses are fixed to not got go above 55.
It's nice that they keep their flashers on. That way you have no idea if they are going to change lanes or not. Nothiing is more fun than being cut off by a school bus 277.
They should stay in the right lane, as slower traffic is suppose to keep righ. Now that something to complain about at the administrative building.
They usually do stay in the right lane. Except when that lane turns into exit only and they have to get over. Or they have to jump over 3 or 4 lanes to get to 74. In which case, having the hazards on turns into a real hazard.
I believe yellow buses are governed to a maximum of 45 MPH, only activity buses are set for 55 MPH.
I thought directional signals still worked even when lights are in 4-way flash mode?
Additionally I assume there is no longer a "governor" on the motor. NC yellow buses are probably controlled by GPS so there is no possibility of override.

Reason: additional info
Please note that the bus drivers are NOT allowed to ever use a cell phone while behind the wheel. If you ever see one on the phone get the bus number and report it.
Agreed! It was not about speeding or allowing buses on an interstae.
However, driver should not be driving with one hand on the wheel and the other hand holding a phone ,and merging on to exit only lane and just before the exit join back in the main right lane to avoid traffic..this was what I noticed last thursday .. Driver may be rushing to drop off kids at school in time but I think that is not a safe way.
Buses are a nuisance. What is up with these parents that drive their kid to the bus stop and then keep them in the car up until the very second the bus opens the door? It takes an extra couple minutes for them to saunter to the bus than it would if they were just standing there waiting. But I guess the precious, precious, fragile snowflakes can't be allowed to stand outside for a few minutes.
I agree. The stop on sharon amity going north after it crosses monroe road takes much longer than it should.If the kids aren't there the driver will just sit and wait several minutes while 4 lanes of traffic is forced to stop.

You did not indicate in your OP you had a issue with bus drivers on cell phones just you notice a traffic violation of the bus driver on the interstate.
1. 11/29 Thursday 8.39 AM - CMS School Bus # 16_3 - Main Lane -> Exit only -> Main Lane ..
485 West between Rea and Johnston
2. 12/03 Monday 8.33 AM - CMS School Bus # 16_3 - Driver holding the cell phone
485 West between Rea and Johnston
If you are on 485 during this time and happen to see a school bus you will definitely make out what I am talking about and will be able to figure out the bus # as well. Second time I was curious who the driver was and observed the driver with a phone and now please do not ask me why I was not looking ahead while driving
