Mega Bus Stop in Charlotte (house, college, parking)

I am picking up a passenger on the Mega Bus in Charlotte NC tomorrow, and am not sure where the easiest place to pick him up. Mega Bus states that you can not pick up passengers between the blocks of East Trade and East 4th street. I am not familiar with downtown Charlotte, so any help is greatly appreciated. Also, will I need to park somewhere to pick up my passenger, or can I simply pull off to the side of the road to pick him up.

Do you both of you have a cell phone? If so use the parking meter spots on fourth street right near the old court house and you could sit about time they arrive then drive up when he arrrives. If no cell phone pay the meter and walk up. There probably closer side parking just I dont remember off hand.

Meter parking either on college between 4th - 6th street (only the right side is metered), or park near 227 West Trade Street (Carrillion Building), either side of the road is metered.
