That's a pipe dream. Sigh, I will settle for whole foods.

What would really help the traffic situation at that interchange is to build another exit further down toward McKee Rd Or Weddington Rd. All homes East of the Providence Rd exit have to get off there then filter out through McKee Rd to get to their destination. However, I realize this is a pipe dream.

Anyone know why there isn't an exit off Tilley Morris, McKee, Weddington, or Pleasant Plains? It really does impact the Providence Rd interchange.

When I lived out there, there were talks of an exit near that YMCA (Weddington Rd/McKee Rd), but it was never put it in. This was before the YMCA went up. Wonder if that's still an option? I agree 100% another exit would help a TON.

The latest reference that I see to that project was a public hearing in September 2007.

The interchange met with resistance because Matthews didn't want to widen Weddington Road north of 485 and it was felt that the interchange would overwhelm Weddington Road and McKee Road in that area without improvements.

But Weddington Rd just road north of 485 was widened recently. Wonder if the exit there would be reconsidered. I also wonder how the folks in Providence Plantation would feel about an exit there. More convenience but heavier traffic.

I just looked at Google maps satellite at the Weddington Rd/485 area and it actually shows an exit coming from 485 Inner that spits you out on Weddington Rd right at Prov Plantation. I know that it doesn't actually exist, but it's on the map.

Any idea on when this starts? Also is there a sales office or some sort of entry point to start buying discussion?

It's still on the TIP for 2015. It just may never get funded.

As Far as I remember, There was a scheduled public hearing on the rezoning request submitted by the builders. Anyone knows whats the latest buzz or news on the proposed start date?
