I'm from New England and I grew up on Cortland Apples and I'm DYING to get my hands on some--fresh is the ONLY way to go. I have a 2 year old and thought apple picking might be a good weekend activity to partake in.
Does anyone know where I can go apple picking and if I will be able to get my hands on some Cortland apples? I know Asheville has some orchards (I don't think they have Cortland apples) but I'd rather not drive over 2 hours if possible--but if I have to I will.

Thanks in advance!
Sky Top in Flat Rock, N.C. is a good place but it is rougly 2 hours from Charlotte. They have a wide range of apples including Cortland Apples, but it seems they are not ready for a few more weeks.
You can also check out the Taylorsville area and Lincolnton later this fall for apple picking. There are numerous orchards there and each town also has an Apple Festival. Both are an easy drive from Charlotte.
