I changed auto insurance carriers about a month ago and kept both briefly (few weeks maybe). What do I need to do to update the NC DMV? I don't see a form online? Anyone? Have heard rumors about people with bad experiences...
If your plate is coming up for renewal soon I would just correct it on the tag renewal. As long as you can show proof of a valid policy, the police are usually fine with it if you are involved in an accident. If you can't find the form online, I would just mail a letter to the main dmv address New Bern Ave. Raleigh that you were changing to a new policy and company and attach your registration info.
