yeah ... no background check, buy as much as you like at a gun show. I hear most of the killers out there buy from gun shows. good choice.
LOL, Do you actually think background checks do anything about gun crime? Killers get their guns anyway they can, usually by stealing. They are not at gun shows.
(answer: Background checks nothing more than an intrusion into honest people's lives.)
I skimmed the article. Without going into a lot of detail, my opinion was and is that criminals aren't affected by the laws anyway. Guns are readily available to them, and they carry wherever they want. So increasing the ability to buy and carry only improves the potential for law abiding citizens to protect themselves.
I wonder if there is any data on whether or not background checks prior to gun purchases have any bearing on safety. Or is it just something we do to feel better? Didn't a couple of recent mass killers get their weapons legally?
We have shopped Hyatt and Firepower in Matthews for years and always come back to Firepower when we purchase. They are on Industrial Drive, just off Monroe Road. Firepower has a range, where Hyatt does not.
If your looking for your average run of the mill firearm check out the gun show, Dixie or C&E. Gun shows in NC are not the same as they are in other states, a purchase permit or CCW permit is needed to buy a handgun no matter what type of sale it is. Go from dealer to dealer decide what you like then haggle for a price. Most firearm manufacturers have a fantastic warranty program so as long as you buy it new your covered.
Remember even in a private sale a handgun purchase requires a either a purchase permit or a CCW permit, if you don't have or know what those are, you are not legally allowed to purchase a handgun.
This article is over 3 months old and only reflects what was introduced, not what was passed. The background/permit requirement still remains in place.
I don't know where you live but you must purchase from the State in which you reside in order to not incur more costs.
That's not entirely true. You can get some very good deals by participating in offers by vendors on forums dedicated to particular types of guns as well as by buying them at auction in a venue such as gunbroker.com. Transfer fees, depending where you go, are generally not that excessive.
If your active on Facebook there are some good buy/sell/trade private groups there. Hyatts is the best locally, but your going to pay full mark up there.
You can purchase online from gunbroker, buds gun shop, or gunsamerica if you know what you want. Then you can have it shipped to a local licensed (FFL) dealer who can handle the transfer.

In my experience over all they are....they are what some call abusive and even more so when "the brady fee" is tagged on.
