Several retail/restaurant concepts that I wanted have now come to Charlotte. Including Publix, Popeyes, Panda Express, QuikTrip and Macy's. But I would still like to see Wegman's, Wawa, Meijer, Bloomingdale's, Roy Rogers, Big Boy, In N Out, and Skyline Chili. And a 300ft rollercoaster is planned for Carowinds so they now are in the process of upgrading that park with more major league attractions.
Parks, restaurants, events, venues, etc are here and options will continue to expand as the cities grows, no problem. Thank goodness the 2 P's finally arrived for some of you (Publix and Popeyes). However, the highway/freeway infrastructure was poorly planned and would love to see NC and Charlotte place a heavy investment over the next 15 years to fix the mess...I-77 (Charlotte metro) is probably the most poorly planned interstate in the US, simply a disaster from Exit 1 to Exit 50 through Statesville. Access roads to the airport are finally improving but the weird thing about uptown/downtown is there isn't a direct freeway connection from I-85 to uptown which seems insane...the only way to access uptown/downtown from I-85 is I-77. Even the little extension to I-85 via I-277/Brookshire isn't freeway.
So for me more expanded public transportation (LRT to airport, etc) and freeway upgrades with flyover ramps, etc.

Haven't heard about the roller coaster. When did Carowinds announce it?
