Not EVERYONE lives in the city or neighborshoods! If you don't want to give out candy, just flip that little switch down by the door and no one will bother you.
Driving your kids to neighborhoods that give treats is pathetic. It's a sign that #1 you are stone arse cheap or "broke" and or you are Shameless. Buy a bag of treats and stay home to give it out to others.
Wow Mike, did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed this morning or something?
There are lots of reasons a parent might drive their child into another neighborhood, and most of them aren't "pathetic" or a symbol of someone being "cheap"
But we were invited. A friend lives in a neighborhood where there are lots of houses. We are going with her kids.
We live in a neighborhood with hardly any houses and we all live on 2-9 acres, and the houses are set very far back. No one trick or treats here, in all the years we have lived here we have never had a trick or treater.
Oh, and her neighborhood is not pricier than mine.
Then throw a TOT party at your house and invite all of us Holiday - All Saints Day or is it Trick or Treat Day?
A TOT party isn't the same for young kids as going TOT'ing. If you don't like it, then turn your light out. It is a day that is fun for the kids and adults can make their own choice to participate or not.
Is this a troll post? Just wondering because someone bumped a post by ClevelandMike where he asked for the best neighborhoods to trick or treat
Definitely trolling. No need to hash it all again since it's obvious in the other thread how heated it got.
I guess ones that missed it the first time around can rehash it to their heart;s content in this thread.
It boils down to this: TOT in your own neighborhood or go ahead and TOT anywhere you want. Simple as that. Oh and my favorite, "Think of the chhhiiilllldddreeeennnn!" And yes I have three. And yes I live in one of those neighborhood where I buy 10 bags and it's gone in the first hour. Luckily we host a small TOT block party first before it gets dark to ensure the kids that live here get candy and we get to exclaim over their costumes. Then I just hand out till I am done. And despite lights off, I still get the ding dong the rest of the night and disdainful looks from strangers (I know everyone on my street) that I don't have candy. I will tolerate out of neighborhood kids but when my light is out, it's done. Don't bother me.
