Hi,
I am planning to move from Chicago to Charlotte for work purposes.
I was looking for some places which are closer to Charlotte Airport because I keep travelling every week.

I checked out some Apartments near University area and finally liked couple of them like Bexley Creekside, Waterford and Thornberry...( all in28269 zip codes , W . Harris rd.)
I am not able to decide as I am concerned about the safety of these places. very soon my wife will be joining me , so need to make sure I move into a safe locality.
Can you guys please let me know if the areas I am looking for are all good?
Or can you suggest some. I need a safer and closer one to Airport.

Thanks a lot for your help.

Thanks
Aka

Probably the best thing to do is go to Charlotte Mecklenburg Living and click on "Neighborhoods". There is a link for "2006 Quality of Life Study" with color coded maps indicating areas of high crime, high unemployment and demographics. This should help you decide which area to locate in.

Depends on what you want to spend too.

I am partial to Uptown. You could live in a gated community with a gated parking garage and be only like 15 minutes from Charlotte-Douglas Airport.

Post has 2 communites Uptown (Post Gateway & Post Uptown Place).

Alot of young single professionals live Uptown. Coming from Chicago I am sure you will find Charlotte affordable.

GOOD LUCK!

I agree with "the 7th"; Uptown is great.
