y husband and I are considering building a new home in millbridge with bonterra. We absolutely love the amenities, the lot we would build on, and home we would build. We have read numerous posts on millbridge from 2008-2010 about the developer going bankrupt and the auction. We know about the gun range and the water treatment plant that is capped. We have also read about the slow build out of homes and the possible negative consequences this may have on the amenities (membership fees, folding, or a substantial increase in dues). Like other posters, everyone we speak to that lives in millbridge loves it. Our realtor says it's a great investment, the sales agent for bonterra says it's a great investment (obviously). What is the current talk about millbridge? Will the development be completed? At what rate? How is millbridge when compared to surrounding neighborhoods, specifically lawson. Our major concern is spending money on a home and being upside down immediately. We've been upside down on a home before and it is not easy. We don't want to make the same mistake twice. Thanks for all your help!
Be careful which section you build in, rumor is they are going to be redistricted next year when the BOE cleans up the lines. Unless the schools are not an issue.
One concern for Millbridge would be the existing homes for sale seem to sit longer than they do in Lawson. I don't have any statistics to back that up, just an observation.
If you plan on being in the home for the long term, then you should not worry about being upside down immediately. If you think about it, all homes are upside down at the start because if you go to sell right away you will have to pay commissions and closing costs.
Make sure you get everything in writing. And I mean everything.

If it's a rumor, why would you spread it? OP, there is no truth to the redistricting rumors and Millbridge will continue to stay in the Cuthbertson cluster since Kensington is in the neigborhood. The build out numbers were included in the last redistricting.
