Yeah, Charlotte is not dirty by most large city standards. Also, the traffic isn't nearly as bad as say, Boston. Nevermind NYC.
They're widening I85 north of the city, too, so it should actually get even better in a few years.
OP, antidepressants aren't the answer. Joy can be found in Jesus, and that stays no matter what your surroundings or circumstances are.
One thing liberals would not appreciate about Charlotte is that it's a decidedly Christian city. But that's a good thing. This is why there have been no race riots, and that's not for lack of trying on the part of tptb.
Liberal policies align with the Gospel. Conservative policies largely run counter to Christ's teachings.
I highly recommend you educating yourself on these matters Sal.
We moved here about a year ago from Ca. At first, honeymoon stage, we thought it was alright. Then we realized the horrible traffic, crammed up streets and just kindof a generally 'dirty' city. I want out of Charlotte as soon as possible. I moved here for a job, which is a whole other horror story, but I would rather flip burgers than stay in this area. If I had known in Ca. what I now know about Charlotte, there is no way in He** I would have moved here. Yes, cost of living better, but quality of life not so great. We lived in a very nice, laid-back part of Ca and to come here has been so depressing, literally. My son and I both are now taking antidepressants for depression which neither of us have had before. Yes, I want the heck out of here!!!
I hope you find the happiness you are missing, wherever that may be.
As for myself, my move to Charlotte (area) has been the BEST decision I have ever made. My life is a complete 180 from when I moved here almost nine years ago. I still miss the food and familiarity of my home state sometimes but in the end, my move here has exponentially improved my life. I'm sorry you did not have the same experience.
How strange. OP came in one time and posted one thing and never returned.
I came from California. While I miss CA a lot and really do love it there, I also will say that Charlotte is definitely NOT dirtier, in fact, it is a very clean city compared to other cities of the same size. It also does not have the worst traffic. Now, I moved here from Los Angeles, so part of that is a comparison to LA, but I don't think traffic is one of Charlotte worst qualities.
While Charlotte certainly has it's opportunities with traffic there's not a major city I've ever been to that has it completely figured out. Visit Atlanta during rush hour, or Houston, Seattle, or Boston or NYC, it's always more volume than roads can handle during peak hours. It's just part of being a large city.

And someone from any of those cities would say Charlotte area traffic is at times inconvenient and annoying, but nowhere close on the scale of "Bad" in comparison!
Not everyone loves Charlotte. That is fine. One of my siblings left after a few years to go back north. Did not care for the summer heat and the lack of ethnic festivals and neighborhood that they had up north. Good thing we can choose where to live!
