I went to buy a gift certificate @ Spa51 (in the same plaza as Mamas) and noticed Mamas went out of business.

OMG! I was wondering why they were closed on a Saturday night (a wk or so ago...)

When they 1st opened I really loved there pie, however I was never impressed w/the food in the dining area...

I think IMO there pizza went downhill over time....+ the competition from Angela's didn't help them....

Still a shame...

Did they also close the Pizza Express location on Idlewild?

Mama's Pizza Express - Google Maps

I didn't like Mama's but if you did, you might check if the other place is still open.

I loved Mama's. Great pizza and we even liked their calamari. They always seemed busy not sure what happened. Hopefully they will come back when the economy turns around.

The same folks run Mama's Pizza and the Italian deli in Huntersville. They are planning to open a sit-down restaurant in the new Huntersville Town Center.

Hope the issues in Mint Hill don't impact those plans.

I agree, the pizza was decent when they first opened but, thats all that was decent.
And, until I found the full package @ Angela's.

The sign on the door said something like, they appologize, they tried to stay open for the holidays but could no longer afford to stay open.

A woman in the Salon said they never looked busy and they have been closed about three weeks.
