Damage control.

Don't think it will have much affect, however.

This Mayor has done a splendid job in attempting to conclude this matter:

"What people need to remember is the mayor of Charlotte doesn't have a vote. That's the way the system works," Roberts said. "The council votes on things. The mayor can start the conversation, but this is a conversation started by thousands and thousands of people who believe that an equal, welcoming, inclusive city is the best way to be competitive in the 21st century."

Mayor 'deeply troubled' about Charlotte over HB2 backlash - Hawaii News Now - KGMB and KHNL

Not the Mayor's fault!

She was responding to the wishes of the community at large, and it was those...those...council members - not her - she doesn't even have a vote!

Who gets to clean up this mess???

Not the community of thousands and thousands of people who wanted an inclusive city.

Not the council members who voted the measure into law.

The buck stops at the Mayor's office.

Ever heard of a "dry county"? Stores such as groceries or convenience stores that sell beer have to alter their rules from one county to another in NC. Somehow they have managed.

any law that would basically let any perv in a dress walk into a ladies room or locker room is point blank a safety risk.
That is NOT what the Charlotte law would have allowed. NOT.

not every person that gets on an airplane is a terrorist. but, everyone that fly's is inconvenienced by the safety measures taken because of a few radicals. sometimes people are inconvenienced for safety, it's just the reality we live in. it's not discriminatory, it's a statement on society.
The "pervs" everyone is afraid of are HETEROSEXUAL MALES. How is the LGBT community coming out as the demons in this issue when they aren't even the ones who would pose any danger (and even most who support the "bathroom bill" part of it will agree)? Answer: this whole thing was staged by the far Right to do exactly that, knowing that the less-educated would latch onto the one most inflammatory part of the bill and support it, having no idea what ELSE they were actually supporting. GLBT people have been thrown under the bus for political purposes pretty much since society was aware they existed; this is nothing new despite growing tolerance by the general population. And here, an issue where heterosexual males are the problem has somehow been spun to be the fault of GLBT people. Welcome to The NC GOP's world of demonizing minorities.

Two things:

(1) If Deutsche Bank can't justify doing business in an area that doesn't respect human rights how can they possibly be comfortable having their HQ in a country that doesn't respect free political speech?

REUTERS - Chancellor Angela Merkel said on Friday that Germany had accepted a request from Turkey to seek prosecution of a German comedian who read out a sexually crude poem about Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan on German television.

(2) If HB2 is so wrong, why is there no uproar that employment protections for LGBT have not been enacted at a federal level? Any company that is boycotting Charlotte should be boycotting the United States.
