Being from the North/Lake Norman side, I'd like to see in this area:
- An award-winning, world-class BBQ joint that serves Lexington-style 'cue, along with all the sides, desserts, fixin's, etc.
- When the Presbyterian Huntersville hospital opened, I was hoping it would drive a need for 24x7 services. It hasn't, but I'd like to see a really good, open 24x7, diner. Something way above and beyond a Waffle House or a Bob Evans.
- I'd like to see a class-leading performing arts venue, something similar to the House of Blues.
- For fast food, I really like Sonic. It would be nice to see more of them in the area.
Thanks, groove1. But I don't like the Greek Isles at all. Went there a couple of times for lunch. The food is not very authentic. On the lunch menu for example 5 out of 10 meals are with pasta or maccaroni. Not considering the beefteki with tomato sauce!!!
But the saganaki, hummus, and spanikopita are all delicous. I think they offer the pasta/macaroni to appeal to more consumers.

- a Legal Seafood.
Your suggestions are terrific! I would love a House of Blues, too . . . and Legal Seafood . . . Sonics are good . . . and 24/7 diner . . . these are great suggestions.
Maybe we should forward this thread to our Chamber and see if they can go out and recruit some of the businesses we have mentioned here!!!
Around 10 scattered throughout the Charlotte area.
There's at least three within a 5 mile radius on the south side of town (Arrowood@77, S. Tryon near Carowinds, and Fort Mill/Tega Cay just on the other side of the state line).
We had a place called Altadena Dairy that was like a 7-11 but drive through. It was so wonderful on days when I had a 3 and 1 year old and just needed some milk! I didn't have to get out at all.
I also miss a place called Claim Jumper. It is a great restaraunt that we went to at least a couple of times a month.
A really good coffeehouse is needed as well. There may be some in Uptown, I just don't get up there all that much.
