Thanks again, guys. It's too bad none of my friends like the same music as I do. I wouldn't be afraid to stay a little further if I had at least one more person to walk with. Looks like the Holiday Inn it is, unless I wanna stay sober and drive back.

With a AAA discount, the Holiday Inn came down to the same price its listed at on Travelocity, Priceline, etc. Haven't checked if there was a student discount yet. Might be worth a try, thanks.

I was looking at a hotel on Tryson and 9th St. Looking at Google Maps, it doesn't seem like that far of a walk. However, is it safe to walk around at 2 in the morning in this area?? I've walked around Philly, NYC, and Boston at night without a problem. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
Do NOT stay at the Days Inn Uptown at 9th & N. Tryon St.

Stay at the Holiday Inn Center City at 6th & College St's. It is better and across the street from The Forum.

Uptown Charlotte is VERY safe. Probably one of the safest ares of Charlotte. Not only do we have Police in cars riding around...but also on Foot Patrol & Bike Patrol...so you are 3 times more protected than the suburbs.

ENJOY Uptown Charlotte!

James Zabiela...right....will be seeing him in Miami at the Winter Music Conference end of March.

Maybe you should stay 2 nights. There is a brand new club opening in Charlotte Friday Night and ABH from Miami will be there. It is called "The Charlotte Underground" and will be open from 10pm -4am and not far from Uptown!

Are you going to see James Zabiella? I used to be into the electronic dance music scene but have outgrown it the last couple of years. Holiday Inn is right across the street from the forum, so stay there. Days Inn is a no-no.

yeah, I'm going to see James Zabiella and deadmau5. It's deadmau5 that I'm actually interested in. Never heard of James Zabiella, but his music seems pretty sweet on MySpace. Anyone else into dance/house music? Benny Benassi is performing in Atlanta in March.

Show was great. Ended up staying at the Holiday Inn right across the street....lovely accommodations, great city. Too bad the weather wasn't nice these past couple of days....reminded me of being back in the Northeast.
