I currently live in Concord (right off of exit 49) and I'm trying to figure out the best route to my new job near the airport. When I Mapquest it, it says to go down 85 to Billy Graham and then take the Tyvola exit (I'll be working off of Beam Rd). I've driven this a couple times and it seems that Billy Graham might be a headache at certain times of the day.

Does anyone know a better route?

Thanks!

I would think that's the best way. Other routes would have you go down to 77 and drive south to Billy Graham, but that doesn't make much sense. Only other way is to go down 485 to Wilkinson, but that would add a lot of time to your commute so I would only use it in extreme traffic situations.

Even pulling up Google maps and going through it manually I cannot find a more efficient way.

If you take I85 and exit onto Billy Graham, the entrance to the airport is within a mile (onto Josh Birmingham Parkway) - this is a very easy thing. Not sure why you think you need to go to Tyvola? That would be way out of the way as it is off of I77.

Loves- I think the OP meant the Tyvola exit off Billy Graham. Beam run between S Tryon. and Yorkmont. kadams2345 - Coming from 85 that is probably the best route. There are other ways but I don't think that it would be any faster. One example, take 85 to 485. Get off at exit #4 (turn left). Follow the road as it becomes West Blvd. Turn right onto Yorkmont. Turn right onto Beam.

Thanks NCgirl - went back and reread - thought the op only wanted to go to the airport

Since he is going to Beam I think I might actually try getting off of 85 onto 77 and heading south on 77 to take the Tyvola Rd exit. Billy Graham in the area of Tyvola can be a headache. If you take Tyvola off of 77 and head down it to Yorkmont you can access Beam - I'd avoid Billy Graham altogether.
