I had several friends showing pics of teachers/ students praying around the school flag on the first day of school. Imo not cool at all.
was it a private school?

What public school prays around the flag?

My son attended a charter school in K. They had a group that used to get together one morning a week and pray around the flag. I also have a to each his own attitude about it though (and I'm a Yankee!)

I'm guessing it was a charter school or private.

A lot of public schools in UC have a See you at the flagpole prayer meeting the first week of school. It is not held by the school but by parents, before school hours. It is a nice way to start the school year.

There are plenty of areas with excellent schools and "Yankee acceptance" to choose from... just sounds like you didn't do your homework before moving.

Agree with you. I would like to know which cities have great schools and Yankees acceptance ?

A lot depends on job location. There are places all around the area that fit that description. Say you have a job in Monroe, you don't want to live in Huntersville or Gastonia. The drive would be horrendous.

If there is a place that isn't convenient for Yankees in town, you wouldn't know it by the migration trend. Charlotte is a great place for ALL!

yankee acceptance? no one cares about that crap down here. You may hear a joke or 2 but it hasn't stopped half of the NE from moving here.

Honestly there's so many... it really depends on many factors. Work, etc.

If you could narrow it down a bit we can help.
