Weren't you the one that said you hated traffic? What did you think of the traffic in the Charlotte area (which includes Mint Hill...not really Salisbury though)?

I lived in Kannapolis, Salisbury, and Concord for some years(Hint: Salisbury is the best if you like rural and quality of life).

I recommend staying away from Kannapolis and Concord. Take a drive through in daylight if you care to see why. Of course Salisbury could end up the same way with enough development..

Yes I don't like alot of traffic. I drove some there. We didn't go right into clt. There will be areas I refuse to drive, although I may do so during the less busy times to get a feel of it. I have my limits. Mint hill didnt seem too bad, neithet did salisbury. We went to concord to visit my cousin but didn't drive the area much. Kannapolis was definitely not for us. It seemed like s ghost town. All the nice bldg were vacant downtown. Seemed like nothing was there

I keep hearing and reading how Salisbury is high crime. Any areas you recommend because seems like there are nice areas but then a block or so away there are some bad areas. Fulton heights for example loved their bungalows but is it safe?

Fulton Heights is a nice area. The area's which have the most problems are around, the Apt. communities off Statesville Blvd and the area around Park Ave. from MLK toward I-85 and East Spencer up and down Long Street.

Having lived in NYC back in the 70's looks like a small scale drug dealer issue occurring.

Boss. Ty for the info. Are the areas near fulton heights safe? I really loved fulton heights. Some info online I read say it's bad, and others say it's fine. But I don't think my realtor wd take me to a bad area. I also loved the area near catawba college

Yes those are nice areas. The area around the college does have students living in rental homes. My Kids went to Catawba and during Senior year moved off campus. One was in a garden style Apt across from the VA. The other lived in the edge of the Heights not far from Salisbury HS.

Did you realtor pick the homes you looked at? If so I wouldn't "think" they would take you to a bad area, but not sure how many options there were in your budget (I forget what your budget even was). However if you picked the homes you looked at, I believe technically they're not supposed to really comment on if they think an area is "bad."
