Anyone know of a relatively safe place to surrender two sibling cats? The situation is that a person must give up the cats or face eviction. Dog-friendly.

(If anyone is thinking of getting a cat, getting two is best, especially if they already like each other.)

Moving seems like the safest/best option. You adopt a pet for its life, not until it is no longer convenient.

The problem with that mindset is that most people adopt a pet when it's convenient without any thought about what might be down the road.

Think about how many pieces of garbage adopt a dog then forget about it in the background once it's no longer a cute puppy, to the annoyance of neighbors and detriment of the dog.

In some or most cases I would agree, but...

The person said that she saved the cats from being dropped off in the woods by someone she knows. It's a case of a family having a human baby, then wanting to get ride of the animals for some strange reason. (Animals are sometimes better for the kids than the kids are for the animals!) I don't know how long it has been, but she is being threatened to remove the cats from the property. She stated that the property management company handles a bunch of other properties as well, so getting on their bad side and needing a place to live is not compatible. I believe she found a good home for one of the two, which is sad, but better than neither finding a home. (Sometimes people reconsider and take the other bonded animal so they can be together and entertain each other, so we'll see.)

I find that setting a hard line policy and judging others harshly based on that doesn't really help the situation. In fact, I think when adoption. return, or re-homing policies are overly strict, animals end up paying the price. Take a chance and give them a chance. I think she's doing the best she can and that's good enough for me. I'm just trying to help.
