Hi! Are there any free places to park in Charlotte in the fourth ward or near the Omni Hotel? Just started working in Charlotte and cheapest parking I found is $8 a day. Thanks for your help!!

Near the Omni? Nope, no free parking.

You could get a light rail pass and drive to a park and ride station and ride the ligh rail train into Uptown to save money.

There isn't any cheap parking in uptown. There are two companies that own all the lots. Preferred Parking and LAZ. Check their websites to check availability and prices.

You could also take a bus or the light rail as another poster suggested.

You might also want to actually sign up for monthly parking instead of pay the daily rate. The 501 East Trade lot is $95 a month for example, which works out to $4.75 per work day which beats the daily $8 rate.
