If your company does not provide assistance with parking fees, I would find the most reasonable apartment near The small town of Pineville. The rail line ends just a couple miles north of the town. There are apartments near Carolina Place Mall and on Highway 51, Johnston Road and Patk Road. Then you can drive daily to the rail stop at I 485 and South Boulevard. Buy the monthly pass in city center at Charlotte Transportation Center. Good luck

Maybe it's not so much about negotiating the expense of parking but negotiating in a higher base pay to cover it? Your employer will likely say no to just more money to cover parking (as all their employees have this issue and their solve is the stipend) however you might just factor in and ask for an additional xxx amount of money to cover the balance from the stipend. I'd rather have it in my base pay than a stipend they could more easily do away with than reducing your salary.

There are lots of employers in Fort Mill and Ballantyne which might be more your speed with designated parking lots. There are also quite a few employers in the University area which would be a good fit as well.
