Bad planning it is the issue everywhere, politicians just want more incoming tax (so they can spend more on pet projects) and rarely listen to infrastructure engineers...

A link to an article behind a paywall isn't very helpful...

We don't need to restrict growth. We just need to adjust the ratio of incentives offered for companies relocating here to infrastructure spending. I think an appropriate budget for corporate incentives is about $0 for the next 5-10 years.

Gosh, since so many forum members are so informed about anything and everything that... oh, well, the Charlotte Observer will pick it up.

Don't subscribe to the Charlotte Observer?

Well it seems like a big portion of the complaints in the article were related to commuter traffic to/from Charlotte. Which shouldn't be quite as big of an issue in Charlotte itself.

Equally unhelpful. Which is to be expected.

Depends on type of incentives!
As long as it is not cash upfront and it is free corporate taxes for a while, we can still benefit from the taxes collected from employees.
Plus we can ask the relocating companies to help with infrastructure costs that benefit both.

Smart growth makes sense.

If people want low taxes and no Growth. There's nearly 80 counties in NC one could move to.
