I was wondering what the commute to downtown Charlotte would be from Highland Creek. We are looking at building in the new Dominion Point neighborhood there and were wondering. I will not be working right away but eventually will when the kids are in school. How easy is it to find employment outside of the city (I have a background in finance and accounting)? Also, has anyone heard anything on Dominion Point and Shea?

You could be looking at anywhere from 20-45 minutes depending on traffic. Highland Creek is a great neighborhood, just do a search on it as there has been many discussions about it. This is a banking city, so you should be alright.

Dominion Point is just the name of a village in Highland Creek. There is nothing "bad" inside the boundaries of Highland Creek. I personally like Shea, but there have been some issues discussed here as well.

The search feature is your friend!

Default Thanks

Thanks for responding. Do you live near Highland Creek? Do you have any idea what the demographics of the community are? We're comming from out of state.

No, I do not live in Highland Creek, but I have clients who do. I really couldn't tell you the "demographics", and if I could, the Fair Housing Act would prevent me from doing so.

It is definitely conducive to family. Your kids are going to love it. Lots of new friends await their arrival.
