Has anyone ever tried this restaurant? What did you think?

It's located in the Park Road Shopping Center.

Used to go there often when I lived over that way. Good place unusual food, been a few years though. Items like quail, boar, and ostrich. Like I said though its been a few years. Big late night crowd also.

^ Thanks, BZEP. I figured there was a good late night crowd, but we're actually thinking of going there for lunch. I imagine it will be quieter earlier in the day.

Went for lunch and the service was terrible, and the place does not seem that geared towards lunchtimes.

I do not know what the attraction is to that place. Every time I go in there I feel like I am interupting a private party and everyone knows eachother.

Not my cup of tea....

Well, we went.

We sat outside in the beautiful weather, and received prompt attention from our waitress. However, 1/2 hour went by and no food for us... DH ordered fish and chips, and I ordered a salad. Finally the waitress came by to tell us they had run out of fish and chips, and did my husband want something else instead? He ordered a burger and we waited another 20 minutes for it to come out.

To their credit, they did comp us for DH's lunch, so we both ate for $10 including the tip. But, we were there forever and I feel like they should have told us sooner that they were out of fish and chips. It was annoying that other patrons that arrived after us were served before us without any explanation.

I doubt we'll go back there for lunch anytime soon.

Thank you for the update on your experience! We had started to go over there - then a neighbor told us they had been disappointed w/ service and long wait times. So we never went but I have wondered about it. My curiosity is satisfied enuff now, Hee Hee.

ctribucher - Thank you for that information. Sir Edmund Halley was the "Comet Guy", I don't know how that transferred to food. Maybe your food shows up "once every 76 years"!

I think you hit the nail perfectly on the head - it's less a restaurant and more a neighborhood hangout for the regulars, especially late at night.
