You didn't have to be clairvoyant to predict this one from Day One. There was no local announcement until now because he filed in Delaware.

Sleazy move to stiff the contractors but you don’t get that rich by being squeaky clean.

Eh, I think I believe Tepper here. For the record, "Tepper" is not filing for bankruptcy, just the real estate company that seemed to be formed for the sole purpose of the Rock Hill project.

This is probably a key point from the article:

GTRE intends to resolve its legitimate obligations.

Ah, yes. The weasel words. Those obligations will be litigated.

No, Tepper isn't filing for bankruptcy. His company is. His money isn't at stake. Whoever else, however, put money into the project and anyone who has not been paid for work/services performed will be left holding the bag, including anyone who is getting stiffed because Tepper's company isn't fulfilling its obligations.

By nature, hedge funds (Tepper's investment product) are high risk investments. Tepper has been high risk from Day One.

Tepper is a flim flam man.

Personally, I wish Tepper would go back to Pittsburgh.

I wonder where he will want to put the Panthers training facility now? Perhaps Cabarrus County or Gaston County in NC? Probably not room in Mecklenburg but sounds like he is done with SC.

Maybe he'll leave that decision up to the team's future owners.
