My family and I are relocating down to the Charlotte area. We have 2 young boys and want a nicer development that has a good community / family feel to it. Is Providence Downs South nice? Are there other developments in the area we should be looking at instead?

Depends on what you desire. Providence Downs South is gated, has some really fantastic neighborhood amenities/pools, lots of sidewalks, mature trees and private back yards, and houses of all sizes. It’s pretty much $1.5m+ to get in right now. The Gates and Ansley is another beautiful gated community but it’s MUCH smaller and doesn’t have the neighborhood clubhouse or amenities, but has a sidewalk trail directly to Marvin Elementary for ultimate walkability. Oldenburg is newer and brand new construction on large lots, nice neighborhood amenities with less mature trees. The Preserve at Marvin has mostly half acre lots with large, more boxy homes, newer community so not a lot of privacy or trees yet but the homes are pretty well built. Walden Pond is older, has lots of homes that back to a large pond, big lots and big homes, but many of the homes may need some updating. Innisbrook at Firethorne is a small and cozy upscale community right across from Firethrone. You already know about Longview and Firethorne, those are the typical neighborhoods my clients request most often.
