I want to get a flu shot again this year, but I don't know if it is too early to get one. Also, do any of you know of a clinic/location where they are not too expensive?
I think my doc charges about $45 plus a fee for someone to inject it. I know that $45 is probably not a lot when it comes to avoiding a week or so of misery with the flu, but I am hoping to find it a little cheaper.

Suggestions? Thanks, Kitt
Kitt, many CVS drug stores will be offering clinics - call them to see if you can get a schedule. It is not too soon, I got mine about 3 weeks ago at a clinic my church put on for the day. Cost should be $25.00 when you do it this way
I've been seeing "clinics" all over town, including one at my office building uptown last week. Not sure how you would know about them in advance however. In addition, my local BiLo had something about a clinic last week - I wasn't paying attention and didn't notice if it was a local thing, or a one time occurrence. I just did a Google search and Walgreens is offering flu shots as well - their website allows you to look up locations etc. Harris Teeter and Target also have some stores where you can get them during October and November. The Mecklenburg County Health Department is offering them for $25.00 - by appointment only. You can probably find more - I just Googled flu shot Charlotte and those were the first few listings returned.
At the CVS minute clinic, they took our insurance (UHC) and charged us NOTHING. The Dr office charges, I think, a office visit co pay, so I'll be bringing my girls in to CVS for their shots too.

I got mine 2 weeks ago from the CVS minute clinic and paid $30
Dilworth Drug on East in the Harris-Teeter shopping center does them for $25 on a walk-in basis. Really easy. You'll wait 15 minutes after the shot to make sure there are no side effects. It's a great, new, locally owned business.
