Here I was feeling very distressed for poor Himain, her b/f and her neighbors and I see your post, and about roll off my desk chair, LOL.

Back on a more serious note . . . I am so proud of you,Himain, for being cautious and not assuming a thing. Yes, it could very well be a test . . . in fact, I would think that is a more likely explanation than kids. Yes, someone could have been watching . . . but little kids at that time of nite? Seriously doubt it.

I have my Mossberg and Beretta at the ready, just as you do. And if someone threatens me, there will be no discussion. Too much crap going on in the 'burbs.

Had my security company over here to install the back up system for back-up signal in case some thug decides to cut my phone wires. I am taking no chances. And put a silent alarm in as well for yet more backup - and this can be activated thru/ several methods wh/ do not include having to deal w/ a touch pad or phone. So I am done w/ it. Call me paranoid, call me over-reactionary . . . whatever.

The law of averages is such that I won't ever need this elaborate system. But I am not going to be one of those who thinks - after an incident - "Why didn't I spend the extra money for a more complex alarm system?" I would rather be thought of as paranoid and over-reactive than have to live w/ kicking myself later, should some incident occur . . . and I am not finished yet. Some infrareds going in as well. Don't care who thinks I am nutty. My DS and DH like the idea . . . and now my parents are looking into expanding their system as well. Why not? Peace of mind is only one component . . . knowing you have done all you can to protect your family is the end goal.

LOL thanks for the laughs everyone. I needed it as I for sure didn't sleep well last night. Trust me everyone, my house does not include a revolving door

Ani-I spent well over $1k on my alarm system with CPI. The entire first floor is covered. Plus we are still searching for a installer of the cameras we ordered. Yes, $1k is a lot but our lives and property are worth a lot more!!

So I can break in with a ladder then?

I spent the money and got the 2nd floor covered as well, we figured nobody is going to blink at seeing ladders up against houses while there is still constuction going on.
