SouthCharlotte&Union, "Abercairn" they are indeed a producer of scarves and hats in Scotland...Also, I knew I've seen you around these parts (ha-ha) somewhere along I came across your Realtor Photo, very nice, I might add. Anyway, I grew up in a predominately Scottish town in NJ, in fact, my last name "Forfar" is a town and former royal burgh of approximately 13500 people, located in the unitary authority of Angus in Scotland. Hmmmm, how did I ever get into this, when Sunny was looking for our street names...Anyway, I'm off Ballantyne Commons Pkwy, @ Stone Borough Drive...
Hmmmmm, I would think not, without getting any "deeper" into this...ha-ha..I'm tired, this post keeps me up to late almost every night, but I'm not complaining, I love you guys, ya'll have made my transition from NJ to Charlotte a smooooooth one....
I can't stand having to spell both words and no one can understand me when I spell L-i-n-d-l-e-y. Then I usually say Crescent like the roll. Over and over. I used to live on 50th Ave. before this which was so much easier!!!
Oh, I also have to spell my last name everytime on the phone so it is a whole lotta spelling to order something on the phone!!

Life's a B. haha.
I feel your pain.
I am in the habit now after I say who I am or what street I live on is to automatically spell it out because I know they are going to ask or worst put it down how they think it is spelt.
I am always spelling my last name in the Charlotte area but I never had to whereI was from since there was about 4 pages in the phone book of similar last name.
When I go up north people want to treat my first name as a last name and my last name as a first name since both are common in that order in that area.
We looked at a house in Harrisburg last fall and the name of the street was something like "Cup N Saucer." I told the realtor that I could live on a street named that unless the house was absolutely fantastic. And it wasn't. Now I live on Glade and I don't mind that name.
