My husband and I dined at the LAVA Bistro on Saturday Night. I was curious to get some feedback to see what others think about this place...We were not impressed.
I ordered 6oz Filet, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, and Asparagus. Ordered it Medium Rare and I swer it was still mooing... And all of the food was COLD!!! OK, this is the part that I think is really funny...I got 4 skinny Asparagus stalks for $4!!! My husband had the 3 course menu...Salad, Mahi Mahi and Chocolate Cake...he said it was OK...but I could tell he was dissapointed...
Anyway...Did we just catch this place on an off night? It should have been a clue to me when there were only 2 other tables seated in the resturaunt...Let me know what your thoughts are!
Thanks!

God, is that place still open? Yeah, i went there over a year ago and it was terrible. The place before that, I forget the name, was just as bad. That's an excellent location for a resturant though.

The one near Boardwalk Billy's?

That place was terrible. It actually TRIES real hard to be pretentious. The food was terrible the two times I HAD to go there.

Been there once. Nothing memorable about it. Except the waiter was a bit rude.

I had a hilariously bad experience there a few years ago, just awful. I went for brunch with some friends a few months ago and it was much better.

I always thought I wanted to try it out, but every time I would go by it, there wouldn't be anyone in there... so I decided that it's probably not very good.

Thumbs up Lava Bistro University Area

Have had dinner twice in the month with business groups at Lava Bistro. The place was hopping both times I was there! Food I thought was really good and the atmospher is great...especially for the price. Maybe you should give it another try. I have another meeting there next week, will let you know how that goes.
