With the current infrastructure I would find Indian Trail to Ballantyne an aggravating commute.
But it really only depends on what you are used to.
If your current commute is two hours and that commute is 30-45 minutes then you might think it is a dream.
If you are considering resales, you can stay in the Ballantyne area, or even Western Union County (Somerset, Hunter Oaks for example) The commute would be shorter!
Honestly I do that commute and I don't find it bad at all. Traffic is minimal until Providence when it picks up a little but majority of it is at Rea/Johnston which is where you would be exiting anyway. But then again I travel at 6am, but come home at 5pm. Even then after Johnston is opens a little and after Providence, smooth sailing. From Arrowood, SW Charlotte to Indian Trail takes me 35 min at 5pm, so from Ballantyne to IT should only be 20-25 maybe 30 in the worst conditions.
They're getting it right, I want their thoughts in IT and IL. Thanks for your opinions. I'll keep those in mind when we're house hunting!
Indian LAND is going to be the next big boom area. Right now they are building like crazy. Was just out there today meeting a client. There was at least 5 new neighborhoods going up. Lots of retail coming online as well. I think as long as UC has to slow up the development due to the water and sewer mess, Indian Land is going to be the next big thing.
