I was never big on a town turning it's back on it's heritage. Granted you don't need those signs, but it certainly added a charm.

Racing and the Earnhardts put Kannapolis on the map. As far as I'm concerned, I don't particularly care the condescending attitude of the Murdock crew (especially in the Salibury news article).

It is my personal wish that Sr. fans would put their #3 flags on their cars and trucks Saturday and drive all around town to show these VIP's what K-town is made of!

It's always going to be "towel town" too, no matter what they do or say. At least for a few more generations.

What?????

They named a road after him, built a monument with a statue that must have cost a fortune and lined the road with banner after banner after banner, literally every 5 feet was another banner, to the point it looked tacky, and I'm a race fan.

Taking down the banners will not tarnish his memory. He's still very big over here.

LOL!!! Well, I had wondered. So everyone bent over backwards to impress Martha Stewart. Well, down here in the South, we are not impressed, cause to us, she may be wealthy, but she is still a former felon.

And I can easily see her saying "Dale WHO?"

Funny part is Murdock probably helicoptered her into the Research park and she probably didn't set foot off his campus to see any of the town.

Maybe this was a practice run before Oprahs visit.
