Which Chestnut Lake are you talking about? This one? 5300-5398 Chestnut Lake Dr. | EveryBlock Charlotte (http://charlotte.everyblock.com/streets/chestnut-lake-dr/5300-5398/ - broken link)

Check that link and you'll see what's wrong with that area. It's an undesirable, high crime area. Have you been to Charlotte to look around?

Sorry - didn't see that it was a link. That is a great website - thanks for sending it along! We haven't been yet to look at housing. Just looking at the internet and were amazed by the price/size of house.

Thanks so much!

i just checked the neighborhood of wesley heights - which someone on here suggested in a few other threads - and it seems to have similar issues on that website, including drug arrests. Is this typical for charlotte? (although Chestnut Lake discharges a lot more firearms)

I just tried to search the NC sex offender website (ncfindoffender.com and it lists no one for charlotte, or chapel hill - or seeming anywhere in NC. Does anyone know a good website to search?

As I've said before, Charlotte is not the promised land so many people moving from NY think it is. There are problems everywhere.

There's something wrong with that website you listed. Try this.National Sex Offender Registry

don't think it's the promised land - just think it's a place where we can afford a house. i live in the bronx and am heading out to jury duty. if you check my neighborhood on everyblock, it's way worse. and i live in the safest neighborhood in the bronx: riverdale.

thanks for all your help
