Does anyone know of any land with mountain views, less than 1 1/2 hours from Charlotte NC?
I'm looking to build on 1-2 acres?
Thanks,
JimmyDean
I can suggest the Brushy Mountains in the Wilkesboro area. Google Buck Mountain for info on a community with mountain lots still for sale. For better views you can head a bit further north, but you'll need to up your limit to just under 2 hours instead of 1.5 or less
In Gaston County look around the Kings Mountain area (It actually part of the foot hills) but with Blue Ridge Distant Views
Cherryville, Morganton, Waco Area again in the foothills with Blue Ridge Views and some parts near Morganton you are on the cusp of the mountains of the Appalachian chain
West of Charlotte I would look into Albermarle and Badin areas for views of the Uwharrie Mountains
Is there anything an hour away with mountain views?
Not really. You can live in the next county over, Gaston, near Kings Mountain or Crowders Mt - but those are just two little mountains, not a mountain range. You have to go at least 1.5 out pretty much at a bare minimum. The place I told you about, Buck Mountain, is one of the closest I can think of.
We looked at mountain view lots in Lake Lure area today. It was 2 hours to get home for us, but we are in Union County, so it would be a little less to get to Charlotte.
Upper Cleveland County ~ South Mountain State Park is there, very affordable land. Many nice moutain views, a little over an hour to Charlotte, but not by much. And, if the proposed lake ever goes in, your land will be worth a lot more.
Lake Lure is around 85 miles away and BEAUTIFUL!!!! It's worth a look.
Thanks michellelf,
I have seen that, but it's a little too far to commute to Charlotte. I am going to check out the Mountain Views around Shelby.. Have you been there? The South Mountains are near there....
