Moving down to Charlotte in September. I am a HUGE Tarheel fan.. I am not familar with TW cable at all. I'm hoping that I will get to watch alot more Tarheels games. Now I only see the national ESPN games. Any info would be appreciated.. Also, is the fan base mainly UNCC or is there a mix of Tarheels, Wake, UNCC, etc?
Not sure. Worst Case you can always go to a sports bar to see them as UNC should have every game on ESPN Full Court. I normally have to do that since I no longer get Sunshine Network, the channel I watch my seminoles bball.
You will get a lot of the games on TV, not sure if every single one but a lot. I would say there is a really good mix of fans here, if I had to guess I would say Tarheels, Duke, NC State, and Wake are the big ones.
You will get every Heels game, save 1 or 2 each year. I'm an equally huge UNC fan, and watch every game. There was literally 1 game last year that wasn't on TV here, either thru one of the ESPN channels, Fox Sports, or Raycom. Don't worry about the games!
If the games aren't picked up on Fox or ESPN, they are picked up on the Raycom affiliate, which is usually WBTV (CBS). A lot of the big UNC ACC games will be shown on Raycom and blacked out on ESPN due to television rights. Usually depends on the day of the week, who has rights.
Weeknight - Raycom
Sunday - Fox
Saturday - Raycom or ABC (I think ABC has rights if it is a National Game of the week.)
Good point Wookie. The ONLY bad thing about our coverage here is that the big games that ESPN carries are a lot of times shown on Raycom here instead. When Billy Packer was on those broadcasts, that was awful. Now, with him gone, it could be great. No Dickie V on ESPN, no Billy on Raycom. Could be best of both worlds, esp since Raycom is in HD now.
