Looking for anyones opinion on the development of the Stallings area. I am looking at a townhouse there, but have questions as to when that area (Potter & Pleasant Plains) is really going to take off, which I am hoping will be a good thing. The Weddington road/485 ramp is supposed to be completed in 2008 and a Harris Teeter is going up on Potter & Chestnut in 2008. It seems very rural now, but will it be something in five years? What is the weekly morning (7:00-7:30 am) commute from there to 77/485 (Westinghouse)?

Thanks

Are you talking about the Portrait Homes development in Stallings (Wendover at ? -sorry can't remember the whole name!). I heard a radio ad for them just today where they are paying your first 3 mortgage payments when you buy right now. I believe they start in the $130's and go up.

This area will definitely continue to grow - buying now would be a good idea. Also, you could get on I485 right now easily by going a quarter of a mile to Charlotte Hwy, take a left and drive the approximate 2 miles to the entrance in Matthews (exit 52 when you are getting off 485). From there to Westinghouse you'd have a lot of company on the road, but should make work in 40 minutes at the time of day you mentioned.
