Ani, 321 in cold wet weather is always FUN! Just gotta be careful flying down that mountain
I'd take 421 to 40 to 77 if the weather turns rough... I've had way better luck on the interstates compared to 321 in bad weather.
Good point. That may be the best thing, too. My parents live in Blowing Rock and Mooresville - and they really are NOT supposed to be in BR this time of year (long story). So for them - it would definitely be best to just use 421, head to their home in M'ville - then the next day or so - down here. I will call my dad and ask him how he feels about doing that route instead of 321. They really need to come on down that hill and get settled in M'ville b/f Turkey Day.
Thanx for reminding me about that route. Adding some miles is nothing compared to a mess on 321.
Ani, all I know is that even when its summertime and raining, coming down that mountain with a convoy of trucks behind you is nerve racking enough on 321 with all the bends. Maybe they've finished the construction and they can pass now, I'm not sure.
I take 77 to 79 on my way to pittsburgh and during any holiday season, Va or WVa will have a lane closed at some ridiculous point. Over the 4th week VA had it one lane for about 4 miles entering one of the tunnels. I sat in that for over 2 hours while my sister who was less than 5 miles behind me sat for 2 hours and made it half as far as I did.
Other than the heavy traffic it should be fine barring any weather.
okay, so I have been wanting to ask this question for about 15 years. I assume I know the answer but just wanna make sure. When Italians say "gravy" - they are referring to marinara sauce? Or not?
Location: Some got six month some got one solid. But me and my buddies all got lifetime here

At least the way I'm familiar with it, it's "sauce" with the actual type preceding it.
Marinara sauce
Tomato sauce
etc., etc., etc.. Gravy was always the stuff you put over smashed potatoes.

Yes, but in the South gravy can be white or brown gravy. I'm not sure what white gravy is called up North because we didn't have it there, white sauce maybe?? Gravy was always something made from meat broth, it can't be white. LOL Do y'all put white gravy on potatoes or just on various forms of country fried meats??
