I am hoping this group can help me and my family with recommendations in this area. We are very conservative on what we want to pay for a home (especially with the current economic environment). We would like to pay no more than $200k for a 4 bedroom home with a loft or bonus room. We need a home in a child friendly community. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help.

To help out with your request....a little more info please.
Do you have a job lined up in one of these areas? If so, it may make sense to stay close to where your employment will be. There are MANY homes that will fit your criteria. How old is your child? Do they already attend school here? Are you trying to stay in a particular school district?
I will be happy to help, but just want to make sure I send you in the right direction. Patti

With that price and size I would take a look at Eastwood Homes in Falcon Ridge.

I'll be working near uptown. My children are younger than three so we still have a couple years before they head off to school. The most important things for us are the kid friendly community and zoning for school.

flyingscotsman, thanks for the suggestion. Falcon Ridge was one area we were looking at.

Consider Providence Glen, Greenbriar, Matthews Estates, Shadow Lake, Old Farm, Innisfree, Southampton, Raeburn, Coventry, Huntington Forest, Yorkshire, Hamilton Green, The Crossings, Steele Creek, Withers Grove, Planters Walk, Stowe Creek, Waterlyn and Berewick -- all have homes available in your price range right now.

I agree with the posts. I live in the Steele Creek area & love it. I have a son that is 4 & attends a great preschool in the area. There are also 2 new elementary schools opening. The area is great & people are very friendly. Good luck & let me know if you have any more questions on this area!

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. We decided to pursue a home in Berewick. Any negatives I should be aware of with this community? Thanks in advance for your assistance.
