Can anyone share experiences of Moss Creek? We are considering a McCar home.

I am purchasing a home in Moss Creek. First the negatives from a person who currently lives in CT:

1. It is a huge community about 1,400 homes
2. The homes are very close (seems normal for NC as most of the developments are less than .25 acre)
3. Some homes in the development are cheaper <$150-$200k. Not sure if this is a major issue or not.

Positives:
1. Good value
2. Amentities include clubhouse, 4 pools, tennis, etc
3. Good school system
4. Quiet location within 10 minutes of 77 and 85.
5. Future onsite development which is a plus for me

As far as the builder is concerned you will get lots of feed back on that issue. My recommendation is to document and hire your own inspector for each phase of the process. Listen to some of the problems others will post.

Be prepared to document and make sure the builder (no matter who you choose) is held accountable. In my opinion, you have the leverage until you close. Once you close it becomes much harder though not impossible to see quick results.

Good luck with your purchase!
Andy

There are concerns in other threads about McCar, but we own one and would buy another one without hesitation. They gave us a great home and have stood behind their product.
