One question, though, is the term "you guys" really that offensive to Southern women? I mean, using the term "you guys" instead of "y'all"?
That's funny...I've lived in NC most of my life and I always say "you guys". I've never known anyone to be offended. Maybe they were just too polite to say anything about it. Honestly, I don't think southerners are that easily offended.
"a far piece down the road" always sounded like "a fur piece down the road" and I could never figure out if it meant "road kill"..... "Gimme sum sugha"
I always thought southern slang was cute. I especially like to use y'all, but Ive often wondered if southerns would take offense to "outsiders" using y'all? Do you think people appreciate others blending in or feel they are being "fake"? I actually dont use much slang anyway.
Oh, and Im curious, what is cockney rhyming?!?!
