A question for those of you who go to the games.

Are the pre-season games just as good as regular season or do you save the dough and go to a regular season game?

thanks

No, not even close. Unfortunately, when you are a season ticket holder you are forced to purchase the pre-season games as well.

A large number of regular fans will either give their tickets away or just not use them. Pre-season NFL is just bad. I've had season tickets for years and you couldn't pay me to go to a pre-season game.

I will say though, because so many people are trying to unload their tickets, this is a good time for some people to go that may not get the opportunity later when the season starts and prices go up.

^ I will also add that if you are planning on going to a pre-season game - the cost of a ticket for a pre-season game through the box office is the same as a regular season game. So if you can wait, I would. If you plan to buy tickets from a scalper or friend - don't give them more than half of face value. Too many free tickets will be floating around.

Also don't expect to watch the starters for all 4 qtrs during the pre-season. The 3rd pre-season game (v Baltimore) you'll see them take the field till about half-time.....the last game (v Steelers) they may not take the field at all.

Pay accordingly!

We've enjoyed the pre-season games we went to. Not diehard fans though or anything.

We go to both and pre-season CAN be entertaining. As was mentioned above, do not expect to watch the starters play more then a quarter... if that. As you get later into the pre-season the starters will play a bit more.

That said, I have been to many, many pre-season games and a lot of times watching the 3rd and 4th string players... while you may not know who they are... can be a lot of fun. Most of the time these guys are playing for a roster position so they play 150% all out. It can result in some very entertaining plays and close games. However, there are also games which tend to be incredibly boring as the lower string players do not necesserily execute everything properly.

So, it can be hit or miss... but the game is what you make of it. We always have fun regardless. If I had to choose between one or the other, I'd choose regular season every time.

If you're going to a pre-season game to watch starters, well you're going to be disappointed. Starters are only going play to an obligatory amount time to prepare for the season opener. I love pre-season for one reason: I get to evaluate rookies and/ or players fighting like hell for 2nd string. Injuries inevitably happen and when the 2nd string guy comes in you might sound intelligent halfway through season when your buddies says, "Who is that new guy"?

GO PANTHERS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just make a fun day out of it. Bring your barbacue and have a nice tail gait party. Preseason games can be just as fun and entertaining as regular season games if you are with a good group of friends/family.

I like watching the Steelers play, regular season or pre-season. I wish I was going to the Steelers/Pampers game in September.
